Answer 2. He was the first Irish-Catholic president. In the 1960's there were issues with them because in Ireland the country had to have permission from the Church to do anything. He was also a democrat in the south so he definitely wasn't like by all. Also the Bay of Pigs was an anti-Castro group that the U.S. was supposed provide air support he got convinced to back out at the end which could have been the worst thing that happened as him as president.
